THANK YOU ARIZONA CARDINALS & WALMART
The actual re-crowing of the field will begin on June 14 and construction is expected to last for two weeks, the field will then need some time to set prior to the Ribbon Cutting which will take place at our first home game on Aug. 18th vs. Pueblo High School at 7pm.

Rincon University High School Campus in Tucson has been given a grant to make needed updates and changes to the football field. It will replace the grass on the field and make it into a beautiful field to be used for football, soccer, track and cross country. This grant is $100,000. Rincon PTA is raising funds to buy a reel mower to be used just on the field so cross contamination of weeds will not happen. The mower needs to be a reel mower to mow the Tif grass properly. Groundbreaking ceremony is June 7 so time is of the essence.

You can help RINCON HIGH SCHOOL students get the most out of school years by making contributions through Arizona’s tax-credit programs. Contributing is easy, and the impact is immense.
Your tax credit contribution gives kids an extra chance to stay in school, learn more and do better in their classes. Kids who play sports in school are more likely to stay in school and succeed academically. Kids who participate in fine arts–in programs in art and music–actually do better in basic academic subjects, including math! It’s also true that kids can learn a lot on extracurricular field trips.
Here’s how the credits work:
- For the public schools credit, you choose to pay some of the state income tax you owe directly to a TUSD school. Married couples filing jointly can contribute up to $400, and individuals can contribute up to $200.
- To further help children of TUSD, you can direct a portion of your state income to theCharitable Tax Credit through a contribution to the Education Enrichment Foundation, which helps Tucson children succeed in school. The contribution maximums are the same, and you don’t have to choose between the two. As long as you have enough tax liability, you can contribute to both.

YOUR CHILD NEEDS YOU IN ALL GRADES!
Many parents are eager to volunteer at their child’s school during the early education years, but the rate of parental involvement usually decreases as students enter into middle and high school. However, volunteering in the school doesn’t have to end once your child reaches a certain age. Research shows that parental involvement through the years leads to higher academic performance, improved school attendance, better homework skills, and an increased likelihood of graduation. Check out these areas where you could volunteer at your child’s high school.
Athletics
Most high schools offer the opportunity for students to participate in athletics year-round. Parents are often needed in volunteer roles such as:
- Working the concession stand
- Selling tickets
- Taking score
Campus Grounds Keeping
Depending on where your child goes to school, you may be able to volunteer with campus grounds keeping. Volunteer duties may include:
- Mowing
- Planting trees/flowers
- Picking up litter
Classroom
Teachers always have a lot of tasks to complete, and many would welcome any kind of help you could give. Classroom volunteer duties could include:
- Tutoring
- Grading assignments
- Decorating classrooms
Fundraising
There are many clubs, organizations, and activities in high school that involve fundraising. As a parent volunteer, you could:
- Produce and distribute flyers
- Make phone calls
- Collect money
School Office
During the school day, there are many school offices that need assistance with everyday or special event tasks. Parent volunteers are often needed to:
- Answer phones
- File documents
- Assist with mailings
Student Life
Volunteers are always needed to support school clubs and activities such as the yearbook committee, drama club, prom/school dances, etc. Activities might include:
- Chaperoning field trips
- Assisting with recitals/theater productions
- Organizing school socials
These are just a few ways to become more involved at your child’s high school. For more information about school volunteering and to find out in which areas your help may be needed, contact the school’s main office or counseling center.
