Nominations Open for 2025-2026 Executive Board Members

Service on the Executive Board of the Rincon PTA in an officer position is a wonderful chance to help drive the decisions of our organization. The opportunity to work with administrators and faculty at Rincon HS will allow you to be on the cutting edge of student and parental engagement and to be part of the decision making process regarding the strategic goals designed to support our students. 

Elections will be held on May 5, 2025 during the last general membership meeting. It is requested that those running for a position be in attendance at this meeting to introduce themselves.  

Below is information on the Executive Board positions open for nominations. When you find the role that interests you or you feel the person you are nominating would be great for, then please provide the information requested below.

Descriptions of Positions and Duties

PRESIDENT

The president serves as the presiding officer of the local PTA chapter and presides over executive board and membership meetings, coordinates work of all PTA members to ensure duties are being carried out, signs contracts and checks, and serves as liaison between the PTA and Administration/Staff.

VICE PRESIDENT

As an elected officer and member of a PTA board, the executive vice president works closely with the president to help run a PTA, attends meetings as requested by the president including council, district and state PTA meetings. Presents a report to the board for any meeting attended on behalf of the president. May head membership activities.

TREASURER

The treasurer is the authorized custodian of PTA funds, following or creating a system to maintain and manage permanent records to track unit funds and financial transactions such as invoices, receipts and authorizations for payment. The treasurer reports to the membership the state of finances at membership meetings.

SECRETARY

The secretary keeps an accurate record of meetings, which become part of the permanent history of the PTA. The Secretary also has the responsibility of maintaining/assisting with all PTA correspondence, including communications with members and notifications for meetings.

Suggested Qualifications for Being an Executive Board Member

  • Knowledgeable about and adheres to the Vision, Mission, Purposes and basic policies of PTA.
  • Is ethical and has a sense of justice and fairness.
  • Willing to attend training for PTA.
  • Prior experience in organizational work.
  • Exhibits enthusiasm for PTA.

Per Arizona PTA rules (under which our chapter is governed), people running for a board position need to be a paid member.  If you are not yet a paid member, DON’T LET THAT STOP YOU FROM RUNNING FOR A POSITION!!

Rincon PTA Nominations for 2023-2024 Executive Board are Open

The Rincon High School Parent Teacher Student Association is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 202324 Executive Board. 

We are seeking candidates for all positions: Secretary and Treasurer.

Service on the Executive Board of the Rincon PTA in an officer position is a rare chance to help drive the decisions of our organization. The opportunity to work with administrators and faculty at Rincon HS will allow you to be on the cutting edge of student and parental engagement and to be part of the decision making process regarding the strategic goals designed to support our students. 

This is an exciting time to join the leadership of the PTA and demonstrate to your student that you are involved in their education journey.

We will be voting on the nominees at our first meeting on MONDAY, AUGUST 14., 6:00 pm in the RUHS Library and Zoom (Zoom link TBD).

Elections will be held on August 14, 2023 during the first general membership meeting (6:00pm). It is necessary that you be a paid member (see below) and be in attendance at this meeting to introduce yourself. The meeting is in person in the Library and via Zoom. Attendance in either mode is fine.
